If you Wiki it you will hear about the holidays pagan roots. If you Google it you’ll find 319,000,000 hits, most enticing you to buy something. And if you ask the next person you see they will no doubt tell you it has something to do with Jesus’ birth. <BR/><BR/>It is little wonder then, that most of us (probably just me) make hazy connections with St. Nicholas or soft associations with Jesus of Nazareth, and in the end find ourselves frustrated with the tension between Walmart specials and special someones. Has anyone else shared my struggle or made any headway on this issue? <BR/><BR/>Is Christmas merely about family?<BR/>If we want to make it about Jesus’ birth should we reevaluate?<BR/>Withstanding the meaning of the holiday, what parts of the Christmas culture should we avoid and which ones should we embrace as followers of Christ?<BR/>Is it ok to give and receive lots of stuff in the name of Jesus Christ?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
